Test road cycling event ahead of European Games to gather 27 teams in Minsk

A test road cycling event ahead of the 2nd European Games will gather 27 teams in Minsk, general manager of the Minsk cycling club Aleksei Ivanov told the media, BelTA has learned. “The upcoming cycling week will become the dress rehearsal of the important tournament in June. The cycling races will go along the route which has been approved for the 2nd European Games. Thanks to the test event, the organizers will see all the nuances that need to be addressed. Europe Tour UCI Minsk Cup will start tomorrow, 11 May,” Aleksei Ivanov said. He also said that the Minsk cycling club is off to a good start this road cycling season as evidenced by recent results. The athletes will try to show their best in front of the home crowd. Minsk Grand Prix will feature over 150 races and will kick off from Oktyabrskaya Square which will host a large entertainment zone.

The annual Cycling Miss contest will feature Belarusian and foreign artists: Stas Pieha, Ruslan Alekhno, Belarusian Pesniary band, Rodion Gazmanov and others. Anyone will have an opportunity to try their hand in relay races and contests while children will have their fun in a special interactive zone.
