Grodno branch of Belarus’ Customs gets new equipment as part of international technical aid project

A videographing system and portable radio stations have been handed over to the Grodno branch of the Belarusian customs service, BelTA has learned.

HD body cameras, data storage terminals, digital portable radio stations, and smart chargers for them have been acquired thanks to an international technical project designed to improve border management operations in the automobile border checkpoints Bruzgi and Berestovitsa. Computer networks were upgraded in the border checkpoints before that.

The modern technologies will enable more effective customs control in this section of the Belarusian border. They will also improve security at the border checkpoints, representatives of the Grodno branch of the Belarusian customs service told BelTA.

The project is implemented as part of the transboundary cooperation program Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 within the framework of the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI). The European Union’s total financial contribution to the project is close to €1 million.
