Dyatlovо’s bison came out of enclosures

At present, the problem of preserving the number of European bison in Belarus is acute. In our country, a state program for restoring the number of bison in the wild has been developed and is being implemented.

A new micropopulation of bison was created on the territory of the Lipichansky forestry enterprise of the Dyatlovo leshoz. There was organized an enclosure with an area of ​​7.5 hectares for keeping animals. The aviary contained 17 specimens of European bison.

Since February this year, wild animals have lived in the open-air cage, and since June 12, 18 European bison have been living in natural conditions.
