At present, the problem of preserving the number of European bison in Belarus is acute. In our country, a state program for restoring the number of bison in the wild has been developed and is being implemented.
A new micropopulation of bison was created on the territory of the Lipichansky forestry enterprise of the Dyatlovo leshoz. There was organized an enclosure with an area of 7.5 hectares for keeping animals. The aviary contained 17 specimens of European bison.
Since February this year, wild animals have lived in the open-air cage, and since June 12, 18 European bison have been living in natural conditions.
