As of 1 May 2022, a total of 113,079 deposit accounts were opened for large families under Belarus’ family capital program, including 82,500 deposit accounts at the total amount of $825 million and 30,600 deposit accounts at the total amount of Br712 million, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Labor and Social Security Ministry.
As of 1 May 2022, 54,555 families applied for permission to use family capital prematurely. Of them, 47,150 applied to use the money to improve housing conditions, 3,062 to pay for education, 4,339 to receive healthcare services, and 4 to buy health products for disabled people.
The ministry granted permission to use family capital earlier to 52,044 applicants.
Most of such applicants are from Brest Oblast (11,054). Then goes Minsk Oblast with 8,714 families, Gomel Oblast with 8,514, the city of Minsk with 7,364, and Grodno Oblast with 6,039. Mogilev Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast round out the list with 5,290 and 5,069 applicants respectively.
The Labor and Social Security Ministry noted that the family capital program applies to families raising three and more children. From 1 January 2022 the family capital equals Br25,995.
