Belarusian agrarians has so far harvested 4.597 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 5 August, Belarus harvested more than 1.4 million hectares of grain (except for maize, buckwheat and millet), which makes 65.8% of the cropping areas. Brest Oblast remains a leader with its harvest 91.5% complete. The average yield in the oblast is 36 centners per hectare (29.6 centners per hectare in 2018).
Grodno Oblast harvested 75.9% of its areas (948,000 tonnes of grain). The average yield in the oblast is 38.4 centners per hectare (30 centners per hectare in 2018).
Minsk Oblast harvested 63.7% of its areas, producing more than 1.1 million tonnes of grain with the average yield of 34.8 centners per hectare (29.3 centners per hectare in 2018).
Harvest in Gomel Oblast is 63.6% complete (479,000 tonnes). The average yield in the region is 22.7 centners per hectare.
Mogilev Oblast harvested 60.4% of its areas, making 488,000 tonnes (the average yield is 25.8 centners per hectare). Vitebsk Oblast, which joined the harvest campaign last, has cut 41.8% of its areas planted to grain crops to produce 461,700 tonnes of grain (the average yield is 31.3 centners per hectare).
The procurement order on grain is 815,000 tonnes this year. The order is 50.4% (410,700 tonnes) complete.
The country has harvested some 53.4% of areas planted to malt barley (a total of 25,700 hectares). The average yield is 35.5 centners per hectare. The procurement order on malt barley is 84,200 tonnes this year. As of 5 August, the order was 21.7% complete.
